HII – ONWR and the Local Community, following the Royal Initiative, have conducted on-site consultations and expanded the outcomes of water resource management in local communities.

On December 24-25, 2022, the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), the Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR), and local communities, led by Dr. Sutat Weesakul, Director of HII, Dr. Surasri Kidtimonton, Secretary-General of ONWR, Dr. Royboon Rassameethes, Deputy Director of HII, Mr. Pichan Tiphawong, Network Coordinator for the Chi River Basin, Mr. Narit At – harn, Network Coordinator for the Mun River Basin, local communities, and HII team, visited Live Museum Community Water Management following the Royal Initiative. The communities involved were Phu Tham Forest Community in Waeng Noi District, Khon Kaen Province, and Ban Non Tae Community in Non Khwang District, Chaiyaphum Province.

To learn the community water resource management model and participate in developing, restoring, and repairing water sources and structures independently, using the Royal Initiative approach for community water management. This initiative aims to help create flexibility in water management, enhance water resilience, and ultimately increase productivity and income. The goal is to empower communities to adapt and cope with water situations and climate changes.

Additionally, the event will discuss expanding the results of community water resource management following the Royal Initiative at the Avani Hotel and Convention Center in Khon Kaen. The objective is to establish collaborative pathways to strengthen community water management for sustainable development and foster enduring cooperation among all stakeholders.
