On 30 August 2021, Hydro-Informatics Institute (Public Organization) or HII organized an academic webinar under the topic “The utilization of GNSS CORS network for Precipitation Atmospheric Water Vapor (PWV) forecasting and its adaptation for the climate in Thailand”. Dr. Sutat Weesakul, Director of HII, had kindly given an opening remark while Prof. Chalermchon Satirapod, Ph.D., Head of Department of Survey Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and Dr. Sarawut Ninsawat, Head of Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, Asian Institute of Technology has presented in the webinar.

This webinar was organized in order to transfer and exchange knowledge on the utilization of the data to analyze and study Climate Change. The application of information from the GNSS CORS network to estimate the Precipitation Atmospheric Water Vapor (PWV) over the country is also addressed. In addition, HII has developed the Near Real-time Precipitation Atmospheric Water Vapor assessment which can support the optimization of the existing weather forecast models to be more accurate.

There were more than 120 registered participants for the webinar, mostly academia networks and GNSS end-users.
