HII joined the 5th RECONECT General Assembly Meeting to exchange how to apply “NBS” to solve climate problems
During 10-11 and 16-18 June 2021, Hydro-Informatics Institute (Public Organization) or HII, lead by Ms. Jarumon Limtipdara, Director of Technology and Digital Division, Dr. Surajate Boonya-aroonnet, Director of Hydro-Informatics Innovation Division, and representatives from Community Water Resource Management Division and Special Project, Collaboration and Corporate Communications Division participated in the 5th RECONECT General Assembly Meeting which is the global environmental project led by IHE Delft and funded by the European Union.
More info of RECONECT (Regenarating ECOsystems with Nature-based solutions for hydro-meteorological risk rEduCTion) here
RECONECT aims to reduce hydro-meteorological risk with Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) which demonstrates the balance of People-Water-Nature.
During the meeting, HII, as the international collaborators, presented Community Resource Water Management in Rangsit, Chao Phraya basin. This area can restore the canal system in Khlong 8-9-10 (Canal 8-9-10) by NBS measure which is the goal of the project.
Furthermore, the HII team has participated in the “Kick-off meeting with Co-Production & Reflexive Monitoring” which is an in-depth analysis of the case study area and its operational process. The participants had exchanged their views and attitudes with various countries. The outcome from this activity can be developed as a guideline for the future development of HII.
